Openai Unveils Gpt Store for Custom Ai-powered Chatbots

OpenAI has introduced the GPT Store, a platform embedded within the popular ChatGPT chatbot, aiming to provide users with a marketplace for personalized artificial intelligence (AI) applications. This move follows the success of ChatGPT, which gained widespread popularity last year for its remarkable ability to generate humanlike prose and poetry. Initially available to paid ChatGPT plan users, the GPT Store allows individuals to explore and develop customized AI for specific tasks, ranging from teaching math to designing stickers.

OpenAI’s decision to create the GPT Store comes as an extension of ChatGPT’s consumer success. While ChatGPT experienced rapid growth, it faced a decline when schools were on break and the initial novelty wore off. The GPT Store aims to rejuvenate interest by providing a platform for users to discover and build their own AI applications. In the coming months, OpenAI plans to enable GPT creators to monetize their personalized AIs, expanding the platform’s potential impact.

In addition to the GPT Store, OpenAI has introduced ChatGPT Team, a version designed for businesses to subscribe to, allowing their employees to use ChatGPT at work. This subscription-based service, costing between $25 to $30 per user per month, ensures data privacy by segregating a company’s information within the chatbot.

The GPT Store features various categories, including Writing, Research and Analysis, Programming, Education, Productivity, and Lifestyle. OpenAI has kickstarted the platform with several first-party GPTs, such as Data Analyst, Creative Writing Coach, Coloring Book Hero, Game Time, genz 4 meme, The Negotiator, and Tech Support Advisor. Users can also create their personalized GPTs, providing additional skills, feeding knowledge from local files, and setting custom instructions for behavior.

It’s important to note that GPTs are not made public by default, even with link sharing enabled. Users must publish their GPTs as Public to showcase them on the GPT Store. Additionally, the GPT Store offers a “Global View” feature, displaying GPTs from diverse geographies and languages.
