Twitter service will no longer be used for text messaging. Twitter is terminating its service on text messages.
Twitter’s service was designed with a text message limit of 140 characters. Last year, Twitter founder Jack Dorsey’s account was hacked using the same SMS system, after which the company shut down the text messaging service in some areas.
The company said in a statement that it was shutting down its SMS service as there were several flaws in the SMS model.
The company has asked users to login to their account from Twitter.com or download the mobile application for the best experience.

Twitter’s SMS service is still active in some countries, but the company has not officially said in which countries it is inactive and in which countries it is active. Not many people use Twitter via SMS but it is very useful during internet shutdown as it is going on in Kashmir. This service allows users to tweet and receive tweets from certain accounts.
